As it's name states, the first solid body, flat sided Rapala to be released sports a coffin corner lip that gives you the best of both worlds in mid-depth cranking. The flat body offers a shimmering action vs. round body crankbaits that roll and wobble during retrieve. The coffin corner lip has three flat edges that offers a different deflection over the standard round lip when bumping, grinding, jamming and smashing underwater hazards where the big fish hide. What happens everytime you hit submerged structure the lure richocets off the hazard in an erratic buoyant motion. The Rapala Pros recommend a moderate steady retrieve that actually searches for underwater obstructions like laydowns. When you do strike, allow the bait to recover before initiating the retrieve again. But hold on, this is often times when the most dramatic strikes occur.
