Steady flying posture
The steadiness is the absolute condition and the flying distance is the strongest weapon. Nothing else is important as much as these factors in terms of the land fishing. When casting into a headwind, surprisingly there will be vibrations of troubles happening like losing the balance, spinning around, flight distance decreasing and backlash but this MICRO is always steady in its flying posture in any conditions, in spite of the small vibration, it shows a stable flying casting distance average of 45 m (with no wind) or 40 m and a bit even in a cross wind or a head wind after testing the weight position, shape, body shape and eye position.
Breadth of the retrieve speed
It doesn’t mean anything if it’s just easy to throw and get a long flying distance but the important thing is to be able to feel the action properly in your hand when reeling slow and the stable swimming attitude when reeling fast. Basically, MICRO is for a big range of retrieve speeds.
The ‘persistence’ is on the body shape to result in such a convenient action.
Because of the high gear reels in recent years, a fast retrieve became possible for anyone with ease. In the field where fish are cautious, it can be a great weapon to get a reaction of fish. The understate flat surface at the body front makes a comfortable pulling resistance possible without pulling too strong. The shape creates light action capturing the water.
The bottom body has a crankbait-like raised part to act properly with the slow retrieve when the lure is knocking slowly against the bottom of the river bed or trying to drop deeper into the water. The beauty of this shape is creating an action ‘motivator’ with the shape width raising after narrowing again so that the bottom part captures the water even with a slow speed. Without having a stress of a fast retrieve, being able to trace the targeted course, the vibration you can feel even with a slow retrieve gives you security. Swimming posture is a little higher from the horizontal. This is the considered result from the demerits such as the hook hooking from the seaweed at the bottom when it’s horizontal and ruining the whole process in the weed area. This is a great finish combining the merits of the existing Vibration X and Vibration X Jr, which are the low speed approaching in the steady layers at the bottom, good balance of both vibration Ultra and Smatra in the high speed area and good action response of Blading X lift&fall.
Hook size
Traditional small vibrations were mostly using #10 but MICRO is using #8. However, using #8 can create a trouble with the hooks holding each other so it was solved by making both front and rear hooks as side eyes rather than the general vertical eyes. Applying bigger hook than the traditional, it’s supported with short bites and it eases the risk of the hook stretching in the fight because the hooking rate goes up.
