Nice! I used to go to the Rogue River when I was in Oregon. Love it there. Nice fish by the way. I wonder whether you seen any smallscale sucker (Catostomus rimiculus)? They suppose to be a distinct species from the one in the Klamath.
Hi did you fish off the rogue or just visiting? actually I saw a dead one by the bank its about a foot just couple weeks ago thanks

I fished in the Rogue. I was in the State for 10 years doing my master degree and Ph.D. My main interest is in the Catostomids (suckers) and Pike minnow (Ptychocheilus spp.). Both considered to be a trash-fish.
What part of the Rogue do you fished? And what town in Oregon were you in? I have seen suckers in the Rogue River , but not Pikes. I have seen both in the Umqua River.. Do you speak Thai? Read or Write?
I was in Corvallis for a while coz I went to OSU. Back then I fished lower Rogue, Willamette, Silet, Umpqua and Siuslaw. Of cause I do speak and write Thai but I prefer to type in english.[/q uh-oh you beaver ? I use to live eugene for 3 years long enough to be a duck 55 small world ha .I did fish the same water but silet my favorit is umqua. fished of williamette for 3 years while in eugene pretty brook trout theres reward for pike minnow on some of the river system
Pike minnow in the Umpqua and the Rogue is the Umpqua Pike minnow (Ptychocheilus umpquae) which is different from the one in the Willamette which is the Northern Pike minnow (Ptychocheilus oregonensis)
they they eat millions of salmon & steel head juveniles before they make it to the pacific each year in columbia. The BPA program pays angles $4-$8- for 9inch and up for norther pike minnow in lower colubia annually. thats sound like fun huh

Well, they are pretty darn easy to catch. What is interesting about them is that they belong to the genus that contain the largest cyprinid (Ptychocheilus lucius) in the US.

yes it is the common name for P. lucius is Colorado pike minnow. Unfortunately, I don't have time to fish in Thailand. I am too busy working and keeping up with my 2 years old boy but it's definitely nice talking to you for a change.
