Eulachon is a kind of smelt which belongs to the family Osmeridae. They are not closely related to mackeral which belong to the family Scrombridae. As the matter of fact they are really distantly related to each other. Oh! one more thing the sturgeon that are sold in Thailand is not the same species as white sturgeon (Acipenser transmontanus)

Yes I was thinking of pointing that out, I know in Thailand we definitely don't have the white sturgeon but the ones we have (imported from China and Taiwan) are another breed, but because I see so many variations I believe its possible they are mixed breeds. Not sure but I think I heard somewhere that it was a cross between a type of sturgeon and sterlet to cause a breed that produces eat and meat faster but grows to a smaller size.

We can look into that, Oct I have school though so i don't know if I can skip 5 days but we'll see.
Mixed breed is the term normally used for cross between different variation with in the same species. My guess is you ment hybrid in your last comment which is the cross between different species.
