Demersal in all NSW shelf and upper slope waters down to at least
1000 m depth

Distribution : In Area 31 this spurdog ranges from North Carolina to Florida, the northern Gulf
of Mexico off Florida, Louisiana, and Texas (USA), Mexico (Yucatán), the western Caribbean
off Nicaragua, Honduras and Panama, and the Antilles including Dominica, Netherlands Antilles,
Martinique, and St. Kitts and Nevis; also the northeastern coast of Brazil and Argentina.
Wide-ranging in the eastern Atlantic, the Indo-West Pacific, and the central Pacific.
