พ.ศ.2482 Laubuca siamensis ถูกบรรยายครั้งแรกในไทย.
พ.ศ. 2514 ชื่อนี้ถูกเปลี่ยนแปลงเป็น Laubuca laubuca.
พ.ศ. 2555 นำ Laubuca siamensis กลับมาใช้ใหม่.
